Sarah Meehan Active as a Community Leader, Board Member, and Family Business VP

Since moving to Pittsburgh from Australia just a few years ago to join the family business, Sarah Meehan, daughter of Bill and Clare Meehan (US514 Pittsburgh) has immersed herself as a leader not only at AlphaGraphics, but in numerous prestigious organizations throughout the region.

Sarah serves as a board member of Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre and UPMC Magee-Women’s Hospital. She is a current graduate of Leadership Pittsburgh (Class of XXXI), an organization whose mission is to develop a diverse group of leaders to serve southwestern Pennsylvania.

In 2014-15, Sarah took part in the Leadership Development Initiative, an innovative, 10-month program of Leadership Pittsburgh designed for high-potential young professionals as a retention and engagement tool for Pittsburgh area businesses and nonprofits. Together with her peers, Sarah created and implemented a Community Impact Project for Pittsburgh Filmmakers. The project, “Streaming Reel Time to Kids,” was developed as a sustainable model for delivering real-life filmmaking experiences to youth in underserved communities via a virtual learning lab.

Additionally, Sarah is a member of the Peer Forum for Children in Family Businesses, a part of the University of Pittsburgh’s Institute for Entrepreneurial Excellence. The professionally led forum meets in an environment of confidentiality to explore business, family and personal aspects of operating a business and developing successful personal lives.

Clare Meehan Active on City of Pittsburgh’s Envision Downtown Advisory Committee and Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership Board

Clare Meehan was recently invited to join the Advisory Committee for Envision Downtown a public-private partnership created by City of Pittsburgh Mayor Bill Peduto and The Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership dedicated to craft a 21st century vision for the sustainable and efficient development of a downtown for all.

The Envision Downtown Advisory Committee represents the diversity of Pittsburgh as a whole and the broad groups of stakeholders who live, work, and visit downtown Pittsburgh. It operates closely with a coalition of more than 120 stakeholder organizations and together, these groups will work to improve pedestrian safety, reduce congestion at key intersections, study structured parking needs, and develop amenities for transit riders.

Clare also serves on the Board of Directors of The Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership, a broad-reaching organization dedicated to advancing initiatives that foster economic vitality and improve downtown living.

Clare Meehan Chairs Pittsburgh AIDS Task Force’s 29th Annual Benefit, Inspires a Generous Community

Chaired by Clare Meehan and her sister, Barbara Richey Chait, Pittsburgh AIDS Task Force (PATF)’s 29th Annual Benefit was an outstanding success.

More than $160,000 was raised to help support the Task Force’s HIV prevention programs. Clare and Barbara’s dedication to PATF and sincere passion for the organization’s important work was evident throughout every facet of the event.

Approximately 350 guests gathered at J. Verno Studios for the celebration that kicked off with an exclusive cooking demonstration from Emmy-nominated Chef Bob Sendall. A sumptuous tasting menu, dancing to the sounds of The Elite Show Band, and Kerry Stoner Award recipient Stuart Fisk made it a night to remember.
